I have this silver piece and it has these markings and i wondering if its sterlings help?
it says sheffeild design made in the usa. its also marked 0561. Its also marked H.M.C, E.P.N.S, W.M.M'T'S. then its got 3 stamps on it First ones is a crown inside of a sheild, Second on looks to be a lions head facing to the left with his tongue out and a hat? Then a left hind palm side up inside of a sheild. Anyone know what this may mean?
E.P.N.S=electro plate nickel silver
short answer, it's silverplate not sterling
the other hallmarks can be looked up a hallmark book to identify the city where it was made, year it was made and the maker
